Mount Horeb United Methodist Church welcomes the Rev. Julie Wilson as its new pastor. Wilson joined MHUMC July 1, after serving as pastor of Trinity United Parish near Portage, which includes Briggsville UMC, Moundville UMC and Endeavor United Church of Christ.
She replaces the Rev. Cherie Forret, who was appointed by the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church to become pastor at Lake Street UMC in Eau Claire.
Wilson has a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and has been involved in the Wisconsin Christian Educators Fellowship, serving as past president. She was also on the executive board for the Wisconsin Youth Ministry Institute and currently serves as secretary for the Board of Camping and Retreat Ministries for the Wisconsin UMC Conference.
“I have a special passion for children and youth. Leading worship, teaching and reaching out beyond the church walls are also very important to me,” Wilson said. “The Mount Horeb area is beautiful, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know the community and its people.”
Wilson and her husband, Ted, have two adult children.
