Current Worship Series & Book Study

“See, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5, NRSVue)
When we hear the word “apocalypse,” we often think of disaster movies, doomsday predictions, or terrifying beasts (and something about the number 666). Revelation, the final book of the Bible, has certainly fueled its share of fear and speculation. But what if we’ve misunderstood the point?
The word apocalypse doesn’t mean destruction. It means unveiling. Revelation is not about predicting the end of the world, but about revealing what is most real and true—Christ is risen, love reigns, and God is not done with us yet.
Our next worship series, Welcome to the Apocalypse, invites us to read Revelation not as a code to break, but as a vision to receive. Through symbols, songs, monsters, and miracles, we’re invited to live into this new world that God is creating—to see the Lamb at the center, to resist evil without fear, and to live with resurrection hope even in uncertain times.
Throughout the Easter season, we will explore these visions with open minds and expectant hearts. Together, we will ask questions like:
- Where are we in this story?
- How do we discern good from evil?
- What do these wild images reveal about Christ, about heaven, and about us?
Whether you are fascinated by Revelation or wary of it, skeptical or curious, you are welcome here. There’s good news—even in the apocalypse.
Come and see,
Pastor Becky
Book Study on "Reversed Thunder" by Eugene H. Peterson
Thursdays at 6:30pm
May 8 – June 2025
Meets in the church library
Pastor Becky will offer a book study for those wanting to go a little deeper into the text. The study will be on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m., in the church library, beginning May 8, running through June.
We will use Eugene Peterson's book, "Reversed Thunder." This eloquent meditation on the Revelation of St. John engages the imagination and awakens the intellect to the vitality and relevance of the last words of scripture. All are responsible for ordering their own book.
Please contact the church office if you need more information. Thank you!
